The Plan Completeness Meter tracks the progress of your hurricane plan. It's our little way of helping you keep the finish line in sight.

Pre-Registering for a Hurricane Shelter

  • Pet-friendly shelters may be available in your area, but many of these shelters require that you pre-register your pet first. If it is part of your hurricane plan to stay at a hurricane shelter, check with your county's emergency management office to determine what you have to do to pre-register your pet.

  • Special needs residents may also have to pre-register at certain shelters. Be sure to check with your county's emergency management office to determine if pre-registering for a special needs hurricane shelter is necessary for you or your loved one. Citizens are encouraged to pre-register for a special needs hurricane shelter as early as possible so that authorities may plan for evacuation assistance and determine shelter placement for special needs citizens.
