Emergency Essentials Checklist: First Aid
With any disaster situation, you can expect to experience major or minor injuries. A first-aid kit is one of the most important elements of your emergency preparedness supplies. Make certain that you have a first-aid kit for your home and that everyone in your household knows where it is located. It is also strongly recommended that you have a first-aid kit in each of your family's vehicles, in case you are forced to evacuate you home. Your first-aid kit should include:
    __(20) adhesive bandages, various sizes
    __(1) 5" x 9" sterile dressing
    __(1) conforming roller gauze bandage
    __(2) triangular bandages
    __(2) 3 x 3 sterile gauze pads
    __(2) 4 x 4 sterile gauze pads
    __(1) roll 3" cohesive bandage
    __(2) germicidal hand wipes or waterless alcohol-based hand sanitizer
    __(6) antiseptic wipes
    __(2) pair large medical grade non-latex gloves
    __Adhesive tape, 2" width
    __Anti-bacterial ointment
    __Cold pack
    __Scissors (small, personal)
    __Tweezers
    __CPR breathing barrier, such as a face shield
    __Aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever
    __Anti-diarrhea medication
    __Antacid (for stomach upset)
    __Syrup of Ipecac (use to induce vomiting if advised by the Poison Control Center)
    __Laxative
    __Activated charcoal (use if advised by the Poison Control Center)
